Elijah Barnwell Impey

(1780-1849)


The son of Sir Elijah Impey (1732-1809), chief justice of Bengal, Elijah Barnwell Impey studied at Westminster School and Christ Church Oxford (B.A. 1803, M.A. 1806). After serving briefly in the dragoons Impey lived at Oxford until his death in 1849.
