Sir John Stradling took his B.A. from Oxford in 1584; he was knighted in 1608 and was created a baronet in 1611. Stradling served in Parliament for St. Germans (1624-25) Old Sarum (1625) and Glamorganshire (1626). An esteemed scholar, he knew William Camden and Sir John Harington.
