Rev. John Werge

(1728-1753 fl.)


John Werge was the son of Richard Werge of Hartlepool, Durham. He studied with a Mr. Noble at Croglin School, Cumberland before entering St. John's College Cambridge as a pensioner in 1746 (B.A. 1750). Werge was afterwards curate of Stamford in Lincolnshire.
