Lady Sophia Burrell

(1750-1802)


The daughter of Sir Charles Raymond, Lady Sophia married in 1773 Sir William Burrell, a member of Parliament with a fortune of £100,000; her husband inherited her father's title. After the death of Burrell, she married the her son's tutor, the Rev. William Clay, and published two plays that were not performed.
