ENGLISH POETRY 1579-1830: SPENSER AND THE TRADITION

William Curtis

(1770 ca.-1820 fl.)

William Curtis of Annaghmore, Ireland was the author of pastorals and Spenserian sonnets in Poems (1820). This privately printed volume seems to have been his only publication. The preface implies that Curtis had fallen upon hard times. A person of this name married Susan Rolleston of ffrankfort Castle in 1793 (d. 1810).
