This Gentleman, if I mistake not, attended the Lord Paget Embassador to Constantinople, as his Secretary, where he wrote a History of the Ottoman Empire. He is the author of the following plays, viz.

I. ELFRED, or The Fair Inconstant; a Tragedy, acted at the Theatre Royal. To which is added a Farce, call'd The Walking Statue, or The Devil in the Wine Cellar.

II. The Fatal Vision, or The Fall of Sion; a Tragedy, acted at the Theatre in Lincolns-Inn-Fields, 1716. Dedicated to Mr. Dennis and Mr. Gildon.
