Dr. Dalton his [Viscount Beauchamp's] tutor, was born near Whithaven in Cumberland, and educated in Queen's College, Oxford. He took his doctor's degree in the year 1750, and at his death in 1763, was prebendary of Worcester and rector of St. Mary at Hill, in London. Besides his poems in these volumes, he obliged the public with a volume of Sermons, and adapted to the theatre the Comus of Milton.
