Robert Vansittart, Fellow of All Souls College, and Regius Professor of Civil Law at the University of Oxford (DNB). He was a friend of Thomas Warton, and they were the joint authors of a prose essay on "Snugness" which appeared in Dodsley's Museum (Chalmers' Poets xviii. 76). Vansittart wrote English verses in the Oxford set on the birth of Prince George, afterwards Geroge IV. As a friend of Dr. Johnson his name occurs several times in Boswell.
