1798 ENGLISH POETRY 1579-1830: SPENSER AND THE TRADITION

Rev. Henry Kett

David Rivers, in Literary Memoirs of Living Authors (1798) 1:338.

Rev. Henry Kett, A.M. Fellow of Trinity College, Oxford. This gentleman preached, in 1790, the Sermons at Mr. Bampton's Lecture, and published them in the year following, in an octavo volume. These Discourses hold a very respectable distinction among the productions of that institution. In 1793, upon becoming a candidate for the Poetry Professorship at Oxford, Mr. Kett published a thin octavo volume of Juvenile Poems, which likewise do him very great credit.
