Mrs. West, the wife of a Northamptonshire farmer, and a very respectable character in the literary, as well as in the moral world. She published, in 1786, Miscellaneous Poetry, in a quarto pamphlet; and, in 1791, Miscellaneous Poems and a Tragedy, in an octavo volume by subscription. Her poetry is natural, simple, and pleasing.
