The sister of doctor Aikin. She published in the year 1770 a collection of Poems in a thin quarto volume, which were received with uncommon applause. Her subsequent works have been a volume of Miscellanies, published in conjuction with her brother; a collection of Devotional Thoughts, chiefly extracted from the book of Job; and several well adapted books for the use of children. Her husband, a German by descent, kept a school for some years at Palgrave, in the county of Suffolk, and now resides with a few pupils at Hampstead near London.
