David Rivers, in Literary Memoirs of Living Authors (1798) 1:144-45.

Mrs. Darwall, formerly Miss Whateley. She published in 1794, two octavo volumes of poems on several occasions, one volume of which she had published in 1764 when a maiden lady. These poems exhibit natural sentiments chiefly of the tender kind, in smooth and easy verse.
