This Author was a Doctor of Physick in the Reign of Queen Elizabeth; bred at Cambridge, and during his Residence there, he writ several Pieces of Poetry, amongst which are Two Plays.

I. The Wounds of Civil War, or The Tragedies of MARIUS and SCYLLA, 1594. For the Plot consult Plutarch in Vit. Mar. & Sill. See also Aurelius Victor, Eutropius, Vell. Paterculus, Salustius, &c.

II. A Looking-glass for London and England; a Tragi-Comedy, 1598. Mr. Green assisted in the Composing of this Play. It is founded on the Story of Jonas and the Ninevites in Sacred History.
