Thomas Campbell

Sarah S. Pugh, "To Aurelia, with Campbell's Pleasures of Hope" Pugh, Poems addressed to various Literary Characters (1827) 81.

Ingenious Campbell! May thy pleasing strain,
For some short moments, soothe Aurelia's pain!
Yes! when each comfort and each joy are fled,
Celestial Hope can raise the languid head;
And, pointing to a World beyond the Skies,
On Faith's bright pinions bid the Mourner rise.
