George Colman

J. Singleton, "Epigram on the new Comedy of the Clandestine Marriage, by George Colman and David Garrick" St. James's Chronicle (4 March 1766).

Two Wits in secret clubb'd their Brains,
For Fear of a Miscarriage;
And what results from all their Pains,
But the Clandestine Marriage?

But though the Bastard Brat succeeds,
What have this Couple done?
Revers'd the Proverb, prov'd two Heads
Are not so good as one.
