I must beg Mr. Pope's Pardon so far as to esteem Dr. Swift (tho' in a way rather contemptuous of regular Poetry and therefore manly) the Poetical Genius of the Age he lived in. He had inconceivable Invention, which was not remarkably the Talent of the other.
