Now will the Muse the winding path ascend,
And to that gloomy bank her footsteps bend,
To hail her SHENSTONE — and, with grief sincere,
Drop o'er his shade the tributary tear;
That tear which he to suff'ring virtue gave,
Shall now bedew his own lamented grave.
