1614 ENGLISH POETRY 1579-1830: SPENSER AND THE TRADITION

John Norden

R. J., in Norden, Labyrinth of Mans Life (1614).

While vulgar heads are stilling Venus Rose,
Norden thy Lembeck drops the purest balme;
Thy Nectar to the Pensive shed in Prose,
With this thy Mummy mingled for ech qualme,
Shall give thee life: and dying, Loue revive,
While Love, or Life, on earth remaines alive.
