The petty Monarch received us graciously, and said many flattering things. Heaven grant his actions may correspond with his words! but he wants a little time to re-consider, and so forth. In short, we returned not much wiser than we went, though with some fresh hopes of more agreeable and less equivocal favour. His producing the opera, will, I believe, depend on a female performer, of whom he is not yet sure himself.
