We now understand each other with respect to the positions of your former letter, and there remains, I think, no difference of opinion between us on the subject. I confess I much prefer the classical model of Dr. Beattie to the insupportable slovenliness, and neglect of syntax and grammar, by which Hogg's writings are disfigured.
