William Julius Mickle

Robert Alves, in Sketches of a History of Literature (1794) 177.

William Julius Meikle is author of an Elegy on Mary Queen of Scots, a pathetic and descriptive piece, also of Pollio an elegiac ode in the same strain. His translation of the Lusiad is smooth and elegant, though somewhat diffuse. He has since that time published a poem called Almeyda-hill, written in Spain.
