If the names of Sotheby and Lisle Bowles have been omitted in the above text-roll of living authors, it has not been from any want of respect for their character, or from want of due admiration of their talents: but the former is known chiefly as the translator — and the happiest translator we possess — of the Georgics of Virgil and the Oberon of Wieland: charming productions; breathing almost all the beauty and raciness of original compositions.
