Sir Kenelm Digby

R. Ferrar, "Literary Epitaphs: On Sir Kenelm Digby, the philosopher" 1665; Censura Literaria 7 (1808) 108.

Under this tomb the matchless Digby lies,
Digby the great, the valiant, and the wise!
The age's wonder, for his noble parts,
Skilled in six tongues, and learn'd in all the arts:
Born on the day he died, the 11th of June,
And that day bravely fought at Scanderoon;
It's rare that one and the same day should be
His day of birth, of death, of victory!
