1806 ENGLISH POETRY 1579-1830: SPENSER AND THE TRADITION

Rev. George Richards

Anonymous, Review of Richards, Poems; Poetical Register and Repository of Fugitive Poetry for 1804 (1806) 489.

It is with much pleasure we see the poems of Mr. Richards collected into a permanent form. From the perusal of The Aboriginal Britons, inserted in the Poetical Register for 1802, the reader may form an idea of the pleasure which he will receive from the two volumes now before us. Mr. Richards is, in truth, a writer of no common powers. His works are calculated to ensure him a durable reputation.
